Kay Stanis, an internationally recognized silk and metal thread embroidery artist, will show participants the techniques she uses in her designs.
Stanis has exhibits in galleries and museums through the United States. She has studied internationally and teaches workshops all over the world.
The Norman chapter has several groups that meet monthly for people who are interested in embroidery.
Regular meetings are 7 to 9 p.m. on the second Monday and 1 to 3 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, 419 S University Blvd.
They also have regular special meetings in members’ homes, called thimble circles and sew-ins.
